Official Breed Standard

Bantam Bulldogge

Below is the Official Breed Standard for the Bantam Bulldogge as provided by the United Canine Association.  The UCA was the first registry to recognize, name the breed, develop the official breed standard and hold sanctioned conformation shows for the Bantam Bulldogge and is therefore the most creditable registry of the breed.

The Bantam Bulldogge has since been recognized for registration and conformation showing by the International Olde English Bulldogge Association as well.  We dual register our Bantams with both.

- Bantam Bulldogge Breed Standard -

General Impression :  The Bantam Bulldogge is what many "Toy Bulldogs" pheno-typically looked like in the early 1800’s when some of the Bulldogs that had been used in previous centuries for bull and bear baiting had been bred down in size to a small Toy Bulldog weighing between 20lbs - 40lbs.

The perfect Bantam Bulldogge should be of
short
to medium height with a square-looking head and a strong, muscular body.  The disposition should be friendly, brave, and loyal.  The temperament is to be steady and dependable.

Males should be free breeders and females should free whelp as a rule. The Bantam Bulldogge should not have the same breathing or activity limitations of some modern bull breeds.
